AlzProtect was founded in 2008 by Dr. André Delacourt, one of the pioneers in AD research and Pr. Patricia Melnyk, Medicinal Chemistry Expert. This multidisciplinary approach led the two scientists to develop a technological platform for drug discovery in AD and to the identification of a new class of drug candidate with promising results.

Founders

Dr. André Delacourte

Research Director, Inserm U837, Lille. More than a neurobiologist, André is a pioneer in the molecular characterization of the most common neurodegenerating processes: tauopathies, amyloidopathies and synucleopathies. From this work published in 230 international publications, he filed 4 patents in the field of diagnosis or treatment of AD.

Pr. Patricia Melnyk

Professor of Chemistry, University of Lille II. Patricia has a 15 years experience in combinatorial and medicinal chemistry. Now head of a team of 12 chemists at the university, co-inventor of AD patent, she has previously got an experience in Biotech at Cerep.
