The foundation of the Jean-Pierre Aubert Research Centre, a joint organisation combining Inserm and Lille 2 University, is a crucial challenge for the development of medical research on the County Hospital site in Lille. Two leading scientific issues are developed in the Jean-Pierre Aubert Research Center: Cancer & Neurosciences.

The markets concerned are: foods, health foods (functional ingredients, intermediate additives and foods, dietetic products, products intended for a particular diet, food supplements, etc.), pharmaceutical products, biotechnologies, the medical market (clinical devices, software, studies, etc.)

OSEO was born in 2005, by bringing together ANVAR (French innovation agency) and BDPME (SME development bank), around a mission of general interest supporting the regional and national policies. Its mission is to provide assistance and financial support to French SMEs and VSEs in the most decisive phases of their life cycle : start up, innovation, development, business transfer / buy out. By sharing the risk, it facilitates the access of SMEs to financing by banking partners and equity capital investors.

The French National Research Agency (L'Agence nationale de la recherche), the ANR, a public institution for the management of administrative issues, was created on January 01, 2007, and is a funding agency for research projects. Its aim is to increase the number of research projects issued from the entire scientific community, and to provide funding based on calls for proposals and peer review selection processes.
